Families brought their children to the Laurel Packinghouse today to kick off the fourth annual Interior Savings Unplug and Play week.

Unplug and Play encourages families to go screen-free for one week and try new and exciting activities within their homes and community.

Whether it be enjoying a family skate day at local rinks or trying new crafts and games together, the informative initiative brings children and families back to good ol’-fashioned play.

From craft and play-doh stations to building blocks and educational card games, the kick-off event at the Laurel had a host of activities each family got to drop by and try.

In addition to learning new activities to implement at home, attendees can have their faces painted, participate in Zumba and enjoy a magic show.

If you have yet to join in on the fun the activities are running until 2 p.m. today.

The events and activities carry on until Jan. 27, with a number of workshops, classes and interactive seminars. To see a full list of what is to come for the rest of Unplug and Play week, you can visit the online event’s calendar.
