Following backlash and the potential removal of the Drag Queen Story Time program, the event made a triumphant return for its sophomore showcase on Saturday afternoon.

Apart from the two naysayers outside the venue, nearly 300 people filled the story time corner, eager to show support and take part in an inclusive afternoon of family-friendly fun.

Back in September, the event faced some criticism from some members of the public for not being appropriate for children, despite assurance from Freida Whales that the event was not a political statement, and is family-friendly.

The Library Board considered cancelling the event, but delayed their decision to a later date. They are set to meet again regarding the subject this Wednesday.
