It's a one-day call to action.

The KGH Foundation's Day of Giving is underway today, with hopes of reaching a goal of $650 thousand.

They hoped to have most of that raised by midday.

"Today, we'd love to see half a million, that's what we're looking for, by noon," said KGH Foundation CEO Allison Young.

"We've been doing this for more than a decade," she said. "With our community support, we've raised $3.8 million."

The focus of this Day of Giving is to pay for a 3T MRI.

"We all, at some time or another, are a patient," said Young. "And when it comes to diagnostic imaging, it's often the first stage of our journey."

To make it easy for people driving past the hospital during the event, it's set up as a drive-thru.

"It happens from six in the morning until 6 tonight," said Young. "It's a really good opportunity for our community to come out and say hi."

She said, the generosity in the community makes it possible to set lofty goals.

"We're a small community, but we're a fierce community," said Young. "And we've shown how we can come together to do big things."
