Dr. David Goldberg is a family physician and surgical assistant, but he's also a bit of a jokester.

Goldberg has compiled a book of jokes and the punchline is that the proceeds go to the KGH Foundation.

It's called 'Jokes you'll love to tell'.

His comedic skills were honed on the job.

Dr. Goldberg was given the responsibility of keeping the surgical team entertained during the awkward breaks that occur when surgical teams have to wait for medical clay to harden.

"The first time was spent trying to entertain the room by creating figurines out of the cement while it was hardening," he said.

"That got boring after a while so I went to joke telling," said Goldberg.

"That was well received and I started to spend some time before each surgical assist day, looking up appropriate jokes and adapting them to be appropriate to be told in that kind of an environment."

After a while, people started asking Dr. Goldberg for a copy of all of these jokes.

"The thought occurred to me that I'm starting to have a big collection," he said.

"After enough years went by, I said, hey, I'm going to put these in a book."

The book is now for sale at Mosaic Books and at the KGH Gift Shop priced at $12.50 with all proceeds going to the foundation.

"The KGH Foundation is a fantastic organization that really focuses on the health of our community," said Goldberg.

"I think it's a really nice full-circle tour for the book."

Before you buy a copy for everyone in your household, Dr. Goldberg warns that there's some salty language and subject matter in the publication, so it's not recommended for kids.
