A scary incident at a Kelowna intersection was caught on camera earlier this week.

It happened on Tuesday when Kelowna resident Suzie Q was driving northbound on Dilworth Drive approaching Enterprise Way.

The lights are red as she reaches the intersection, but they quickly turn green and she starts to proceed along Dilworth.

Before she can even enter the intersection, a white van travelling westbound on Enterprise runs the red light and nearly hits a car that proceeded southbound into the intersection.

Luckily, the van narrowly misses the southbound car as it carries on its way down Enterprise, but the situation could have had a much worse result.

“If I was going any faster, it would have hit me and possible hurt me and my child,” said Suzie. “I am worried this driver may hit someone else who is put in the same position.”

Suzie’s dash cam was recording at the time and she says it captured the van’s license plate, giving the RCMP a great lead to locate the driver.

NowMedia has reached out to the RCMP for further comment on this story.
