The CFL’s all-time winningest coach is coming to Kelowna.

Wally Buono, who had an illustrious 22-year career with the B.C.Lions and Calgary Stampeders, will be one of two guest speakers at the Okanagan Sun’s inaugural Hall of Fame event.

It’ll take place at the Coast Capri Hotel on Wednesday, June 26 and Buono will be joined by Brian Towriss, who’s the winningest football head coach in Canadian university history.

Buono won five Grey Cups as a CFL head coach, including a pair with the Lions in 2006 and 2011.

He also won the CFL’s Coach of the Year award four times, in 1992, 1993, 2006 and 2011.

“Wally Buono has been a prominent leader in B.C. football for the past 15 years,” said Brett Kryskow.

“Both Wally and Brian are inductees in the CFL Hall of Fame and we are excited and grateful to have them at our event.”

The event, which will run from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. on the 26th, is open to all and tickets are available through this link.
