(UPDATE: June 19 @ 2:15 p.m.) - Waterfront Park will no longer be closed on Friday after the cancellation of the concert that was planned for the Island Stage.

You can find details on the cancellation here.

(Original story: June 17 @ 10:30 a.m.) - Magic! will be performing a show at Waterfront Park on Friday.

As a result, the park will be closed to the general public starting at 3 p.m., as will the south end of Tugboat Beach.

The north end of Tugboat Beach will still be open, but only accessible through Rotary Marsh Park off Sunset Drive.

Load-in for the event will begin more than a day earlier, at noon on Thursday, but that will only cause minimal disruptions for park users.

The southwest bay of the Dolphins parking lot will also be closed from 6 a.m. until midnight on Friday.

Residents who are attending the show are urged to walk, bike or take the bus to the show to help ease congestion on a busy night downtown.

Tickets for the show, which are $49.50 plus taxes and fees, are still available through the Rock District website.
