We’re making a list of Kelowna patios that are currently open, but we need your help

Once again, the hospitality industry was rocked with some difficult news on Monday, as Dr. Bonnie Henry announced the suspension of dine-in services until April 19.

It puts restaurants, bars, breweries and more in a difficult position, something they’ve become all too familiar with over the past 12 months.

While there are certainly mixed thoughts on these latest restrictions, supporting local is the main thing that will help your favourite local spots survive right now.

Picking up takeout food to bring home is a great option, as is visiting your favourite patios for a happy hour pint, appetizer and more!

As the weather has gotten better, plenty of Kelowna patios have already opened and others are pushing up their opening date due to Monday’s news.

A lot of them have heaters as well, since it’s not quite summer weather yet, which means you can visit in the evening or even on colder spring days.

Our community has been so great at supporting local during the pandemic and we want to help that continue to happen over the next three weeks.

That means putting together a list of patios that are open across the Central Okanagan, along with a few details about their menu, whether they’re dog friendly, if they have heaters and more.

If you own a restaurant, bar or brewery that does have a patio, please email josh@kelownanow.com either today or Wednesday with a few bits of information:

If you know someone who owns an establishment who may not see this story, please forward it along to them so we can get them on the list.

We’ll put this information together with what we already know about certain patios and publish a large directory on Thursday or Friday, ahead of the Easter long weekend.
