A staple of the Kelowna music scene has received international recognition.

Wentworth Music, located at 1634 Harvey Ave., has been named a Top 100 Dealer by the National Association of Music Merchants.

The award honours retailers who demonstrate exceptional committment to their stores, neighbourhoods and customers, as well as share in a vision to create a more musical world.

“We’re just buzzing,” said Noel Wentworth, vice president of education for Wentworth Music. “Such a huge honour to be amongst the top stores and schools from around the globe.”

The award will be presented at the industry’s annual mid-year gathering, Summer NAMM, on Friday June 30 in Nashville, Tennessee.

In addition to the Top 100 honour, Wentworth is in the running to receive a best of award in one of seven categories.

Those categories include Customer Service, Emerging Dealer/Rookie of the Year, Store Design, Marketing and Sales Promotion, Online Engagement, Store Turnaround or the Music Makes a Difference award.

The coveted Dealer of the Year award will go to one of the recipients in the aforementioned categories.
