West Kelowna’s Music in the Park is back on for this Friday in the upper field of Kinsmen Park.

The free music event was set to begin last week, however, the extreme heatwave resulted in a minor postponement.

Scotty Berg, an up and coming artist who released his first single in April, will open the show at 6:40 pm.

Berg started off singing national anthems at local sports games and talent shows with cover songs of bands such as Journey and Foreigner.

The headlining artist Lindsay May, a multi talented blues and pop/rock artist, will begin her set at 7:40 pm.

May is a singer/songwriter and instrumentalist who has toured North America and Europe, showcasing her original songs, as well as, covers from bands such as the Beatles and Queen.

To learn more about May, visit her website for more information.

Music in the Park also offers children's activities and there will be a couple food trucks on site.

The City of West Kelowna is reminding residents to bring their own blankets, chairs, umbrellas and water, to dress for the weather and if you or anyone in your group is feeling sick – stay home.

So far, the other Music in the Park dates include July 30, Aug. 27 and Sept. 3.

Visit the Music in the Park webpage for more information.
