The KGH Foundation has started a new project that allows Kelowna residents a chance to show their support and gratitude to front-line caregivers during this difficult time.
“Like you, we at the KGH Foundation are trying to find ways to process all that is happening in our world and community,” the foundation said in a post.
“We have retreated to our homes. We are figuring out how to live and work in isolation. Distanced ourselves from friends and neighbours. Amidst all the changes, there have been moments of pause. In these moments, we have asked ourselves, ‘what can we do?’ Even though the doors are closed, our hearts remain open. We know you feel the same.”
To make it easier to express our support to doctors and nurses from our homes, the KGH Foundation developed the White Heart Project.
You can now visit their website and send a message to healthcare workers, which will be written on a white heart and displayed in the hospital for the staff to see.
You can also download the white heart and display it on your front door for everyone to see.
According to the foundation, a white heart is a symbol commonly used to convey “hope, pure thought and steadfast intention.”
