YLW was one of many areas in the Okanagan today dealing with strong winds.

According to Weather Stats, winds at the Kelowna Airport were clocked at a maximum speed of 66.6 km/h Tuesday afternoon.

The high winds forced WestJet to make multiple flight diversions for planes landing in Kelowna.

"There were two flight this morning that diverted due to strong winds," said WestJet in a statement to KelownaNow. "WS3238 diverted back to Edmonton. It did not reattempt. Any guests booked on this flight would have been rebooked. WS903 diverted to Vancouver. It also did not reattempt. All guests have been rebooked."

YLW passengers are reminded to check the status of their flight before arriving at the airport.
