Winfield Bakery seriously damaged in fire

Winfield Bakery is being mourned online after the popular Lake Country business was seriously damaged in a fire last night.

The District of Lake Country praised firefighters from the community for their “swift response and concentrated efforts to knock down the fire.” 

It added: “Our thoughts are with all impacted by this fire at a long time, popular business in the community.” 

The fire started sometime around 6:30 pm. 

Residents were warned to avoid Main Street during the firefighting operation.  

There are no reports of any injuries.  

This story will be updated when more information about the extent of the damage to the bakery becomes available.
