(UPDATE: 5 p.m.) - Winter weather continues to make things difficult at Kelowna International Airport (YLW).

There are a number of delays on flights scheduled to leave the airport tonight, although it does seem like airport staff are doing a good job to limit the number of cancellations.

Multiple flights to Vancouver and a pair of flights to Calgary and Edmonton are all delayed significantly, while just one flight to Toronto has been cancelled at this point.

If you're picking up anyone at the airport tonight, that same flight from Toronto is cancelled coming in and most flights from Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary are delayed.

Make sure you check the YLW website for the latest information on flights in and out of the airport.

According to YLW communications advisor Jessica Hewitt, all the delays and cancellations are related to weather issues at other airports that impact YLW's schedule.

"A lot of arriving flights at YLW are also the same flights that depart," explained Hewitt.

"So if the arriving flight doesn't come in the departing plane will obviously not be leaving on time."

NowMedia will try to keep this story updated, but for the latest information on flight status and times, visit the YLW website.
