(UPDATE: Sept. 12 @ 11:48 am): Mounties have released surveillance images of two women they are hoping to identify.
Officers think the women could help them explain how a woman came to be assaulted near Mills Street and Bernard Avenue on Aug. 18 at about 9:30 pm.
The woman was found with a bleeding arm and taken to hospital, but she was unable to tell police how she was hurt.
Surveillance footage showed the woman having an altercation with two other women. A man was also present, police said.
“Kelowna RCMP would like the public’s assistance in identifying the persons involved to understand what took place the night of August 18,” said Cst. Mike. Della-Paolera.

(Original story: Aug. 19 @ 1:02 pm): Kelowna Mounties are searching for witnesses after a woman was hurt in a fight with another woman.
Police said officers patrolling downtown on Thursday encountered an intoxicated woman “bleeding heavily from a wound to her arm.”
She was ultimately sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The woman was incapable of explaining how she’d been hurt, police said, so the officers investigated themselves, ending up on the corner of Mill Street and Bernard Avenue.
They then obtained surveillance footage showing the woman having an “altercation” with two other women.
A man was also present, police said.
“The surveillance showed two females fighting,” the RCMP explained.
“The victim was able to free herself and walk away to the area where she was located by [...] concerned citizens.”
Police said they have been unable to identify the two women and the man, or what weapon was used to wound the victim.
Officers are asking for help to identify the trio, though they are not providing images or descriptions.
“This is an active investigation and officers are certain that this is an isolated occurrence. There is no concern for the public’s safety,” said Cst. Mike Della-Paolera.
