Two young skiers from Kelowna’s Big White Freestyle Club have returned home with medals after competing in this year’s BC Winter Games.

Malory Wagner, 14, earned a silver medal in U16 Slopestyle and a fourth place finish in Big Air, while Meghan Calder, 13, laid down a bronze medal performance in the U14 Slopestyle and a fifth place finish in Big Air.

Calder says the best part of the games was meeting new friends, and she is grateful for the experience.

The duo will be joined later this week by teammates Byron Lambert, 14, and Eliza Bell, 15, in Calgary to compete in the Canadian Junior National Park and Pipe Championships.

Wagner and Calder are part of a 19-member Okanagan team, which includes freestyle skiers from Apex, Big White, Silver Star and Sun Peaks.
