Kelowna Ogopogo swim team performs medal haul at home

The Ogopogo Summer Swim Club put on their annual swim meet in Kelowna this weekend and managed to score medals across the board. 

An estimated 300 swimmer from the Thompson-Okanagan region, as well as guest swimmers from the Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley areas, competed in the H20 Aquatic Centre on Saturday and Sunday. 

All of the Ogopogo swimmers performed well.

Medal winners included: 

Division 1, girls: Remy Stevens (gold) and Avlyn Smirl (bronze)

Division 1, boys: Jaxon Ritchie (silver)

Division 2, girls: Julianna Sebulsky (gold)

Division 3, boys: Maddox Stevens (gold)

Division 4, girls: Teagan Murray (silver) and Hana Choi (bronze)

Division 4, boys: Tage Stevens (bronze)

Division 6, girls: Samantha Campbell (bronze)

Division 7, girls: Journee Tozer (silver)

Division 7, boys: Cameron McInnes, coach (silver)

Division 8, girls: Cindy Strinholm, meet manager (gold) and Randi Thompson, coach (bronze)

Their competitive season will continue with a meet in Penticton this upcoming Saturday and Sunday, followed by an Ogopogo journey to Golden and Salmon Arm. 

In August, Ogopogo swimmers will attend the Regional Meet in Kamloops, with hopes of completing in the top three to move onto the provincial championships.
