Last weekend, after three days of competition, Ella Green and Sophia Vicaretti emerged as gold medal winners at the U16 Volleyball Canada Beach Nationals, that took place at the Spanish Banks in Vancouver.

Green had been matched up with Summer Walker for the season, however, due to another commitment, Walker was replaced at nationals with Vicaretti.

In the volleyball BC Sand series events in Vancouver, Kamloops and twice in Penticton, Green and Walker won gold. They also won the Vancouver Open, Kits Festival and the Provincial Championships.

With Vicaretti stepping in, the run continued with the victory at nationals.

Both athletes train at the Energy Volleyball Club for both beach and indoor. Their coaches are Wayne Green and Euan Robertson.

Congratulations ladies!
