Nominations are now open for Kraft Hockeyville 2023, which gives one lucky Canadian town the chance to host a NHL preseason game at a local rink every year.

The program has raised over $4.5 million to 93 different communities across the country over the past 17 years.

Three communities in BC have played host to Kraft Hockeyville over the past two decades, with the town of Lumby being the most recipient, holding a preseason match between the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings in 2016.

North Saanich on Vancouver Island (2015) and Terrace on the North Coast (2009) are the two other towns that have hosted the event in BC.

Nominations for Kraft Hockeyville 2023 will remain open until Feb. 19 and can be submitted through the event’s website.

The winner will be announced on Apr. 1, 2023.
