The Victoria Royals were in action on Friday night, this time taking on the Prince Geroge Cougars.
It wasn't an amazing night for the Royals as they could only muster up one goal in 60 minutes. This is the third time Victoria has lost to Prince George already this season.
In the first period, both teams received multiple power play chances. The Royals had a full five on three power play, though they still weren't able to solve the Cougars' netminder.
After starting the second frame short-handed, Keanu Derungs scored an unassisted goal with a slapshot from the blue line. The lead was short-lived as PG would tie the game just minutes later.
With seven minutes left in the second Jonny Hooker gave the Cougars a 2-1 lead. Only seconds later, PG would add another, which led to Victoria switching goalies from Tyler Palmer to Logan Cunningham.
Craig Armstrong got the fourth goal of the night for the Cougars and, minutes later, Kaden Brown scored their fifth. Up 5-1, Prince George never looked back.
With the loss, Victoria moves to 1-7 on the year. Their next game is against the Cougars tonight at 7:05 pm from Save-On-Foods Memorial Arena.
