It’s a great weekend to round up the family and get out to Rutland Area.

The Kelowna Chiefs are hosting the Beaver Valley Nitehawks on Friday before the Summerland Steam come to town on Saturday and there’s something special about both nights.

On Friday, it’s Stuff The Net bus, where fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to the game.

All the goods collected will be donated to the Central Okanagan Food Bank and, if you donate, you’ll be entered to win an autographed canvas of Martin Brodeur.

The following night, it’s the team’s Teddy Bear Toss game, which should need much explanation as it’s become a highly-anticipated holiday tradition in junior hockey.

Fans are encouraged to bring a new teddy bear to the game and when the Chiefs score their first goal against the Steam, let those bears fly onto the ice surface.

All of the bears will be donated to Kelowna Santas and distributed to kids in less fortunate families this holiday season.

You’ll want to make sure you’re there in time for puck drop, because Kelowna’s high-powered offense can strike quickly.

Whether it's Friday night, Saturday night or even both, make sure to get out and support the Chiefs and do a little charity this weekend!
