Hockey is back.

Yes, you heard that right, the junior hockey season gets underway in the Central Okanagan tonight as the West Kelowna Warriors host the Penticton Vees in preseason action.

It’s the first of six preseason games for the Warriors, who will play the Vees in Penticton as well, along with two other home and homes against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks and Trail Smoke Eaters.

The lineups for tonight’s opening game will consist mainly of young prospects and there’s a pair of interesting names suiting up for West Kelowna.

David and Drew Vieten will be donning the Warriors jersey for the first time, making them the first set of twins to play for the franchise in more than a decade.

Anyone looking to get back in the rink tonight can purchase tickets at the door, but season ticket holders get in free.
