There were plenty of positives from the West Kelowna Warriors performance on Tuesday night, but once again the Penticton Vees were too much to handle.

Although the Warriors had a lead after 20 minutes, the Vees would explode for five goals en route to a 5-2 road win.

John Evans opened the scoring for West Kelowna in the opening frame, scoring his first shorthanded goal of the season.

The 1-0 lead would last until the second, but that’s when the flurry of Vees goals began.

First it was Darwin Lakoduk, followed by Drew Elser and a pair by Jay O’Brien, a first-round pick of the Philadelphia Flyers in 2018.

Although Evans would make it a 4-2 game with his second of the night, Tyler Ho restored the Vees three-goal lead before the end of the period.

Penticton was able to control much of the play in the third period, quashing any hopes of a West Kelowna comeback and cruising to a 5-2 victory.

The Warriors return to action on Friday when another Okanagan rival, the Vernon Vipers, roll into town for a game at Royal LePage Place.
