Vancouver is set to host one of the largest parties the city has seen in a long time.

The Killers, Florence and the Machine, Milky Chance and many, many, more of music’s biggest names will descend on Stanley Park beginning Friday for the inaugural edition of Skookum Music Festival.

Skookum expects about 20,000 concert goers per day over the weekend, which bills itself as offering "a spirited, eclectic menu of authentic artists from the West Coast, across Canada and around the world."

Over 50 bands will perform across four stages over the weekend, with many of the festival's headlining acts performing on the "Mountain Stage" located in Stanley Park's iconic Brockton Oval.

Also located on the festival site is an artisan market, craft beer area, bike valet, art pavillion, restaurant pop-ups and much more.

Granted, not everyone can escape to a music festival following the long-weeked.

However, for those unable to attend, NowMedia has rounded up a spectacular playlist for your listening pleasure that will hopefully be the next best thing to actually being at the concerts.

According to festival organizers, the name "Skookum" originates from the historical Chinook Jargon of the Pacific Northwest, Skookum translates to strong, brave and impressive. It also means celebration.
