Winnipeg-based band The Proud Sons, are spreading their vintage inspired southern rock across the country and the United States.

The up-and-coming quintet are currently supporting legendary Canadian rock group, The Tea Party as part of their 42 date Black River Tour.

According to band member Ryan McConnell, the two bands got together via social media after The Proud Sons expressed sentiments about opening up for their influencers as “one of their favourite shows to date.”

Known for their energetic live shows, warm, authentic sound and down-to-earth attitude, the band is easily on their way to being yet another crown jewel in the famous Winnipeg-bred band roster.

We caught up with McConnell, The Proud Sons bass player Jesse Myer and multi-instrumentalist Jason Stanley, to chat about how the tour has been, their time at the iconic Sun Studio in Memphis, honey dill dipping sauce and more.

The guys also gave us a stripped-down, acoustic rendition of their song “Raisin’ Hell.”
