Local Okanagan communities, Vernon and Lumby, are in the spot light this February, as a new feature film crew has set up shop for the next couple of weeks. NUMB, a feature length thriller, began their 18 days of filming on February 16th.

Staring Jamie Bamber from Battlestar Gallactica and Law and Order U.K., Marie Avgeropolous from Tracers and the 100; Aleks Paunovic from iZombie and This Means War, and Stefanie von Pfetten from Cracked, the film is centered around a couple in financial distress who are about to embark on an adventure.

When the couple finds a map that promises to lead to stolen gold, they must partner with a pair of mysterious hitchhikers to enter the remote wilderness and recover the coins.

The film is spearhead by first-time feature director, Jason R. Goode. His most recent short film is entitled Late and was well received by film critics and award programs.

Written by award winning Andre Harden and produced by experienced Canadian Film Centre alumnus, NUMB is shaping up to be a real adventure right here in the Okanagan.

“We are very pleased to have the second film of the year being shot in the second month of the year. This is setting up 2015 to be significant in terms of productions filming in the Okanagan, and is very good for the businesses that filming supports in the region,” said Jon Summerland from the Okanagan Film Commission.
