A total of 75 firefighters from around B.C. took on the 14th Annual Climb the Wall: the Staircilmb for Clean Air. The campaign is designed to raise money for the B.C. Lung Association.

The Revelstoke team consisted of members in all age categories, and many firefighters managed to improve on their run times from last year. This year, the team ranked in the top third of all competitors. Claiming fame as the fastest firefighter on the Revelstoke team, Mika Sicho landed a time of eight minutes and 23 seconds. He ranked sixth overall and third in his age group.

"It was great fun. I didn’t know anyone here heard about our times. I was pleasantly surprised. More than the stair climb, it was great to spend the weekend with the gents enjoying the time together, ate some fine food, had some laughs and got to know each other a bit better. Always proud to be a part of the Revelstoke department,” said rookie firefighter Russ Brackenbury.

“We at Revelstoke Fire Rescue Services continue to be proud to work with our firefighters helping them achieve their personal and fundraising goals in every way we can. And we just wanted to share that pride with you,” said Fire Chief Rob Girard.
