A Vernon tattoo shop is getting a ton of interest for their BC Children’s Hospital fundraiser.
Five Fathoms Tattoo on 30th Avenue is filling the streets on Sunday for their first come, first served Custom Flash Day fundraiser. People sign up on the list and wait to get tattoos that day, with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to the BC Children’s Hospital.

The tattoo shop has brought in about 20 tattooers from all over Western Canada, including some very big names. All day on Sunday, May 24th, the shop will have nine stations that constantly rotate clients and artist. Those wanting some ink have hundreds of designs to choose from, with variable prices.
The event isn’t just contained to the ink, however. The fundraiser acts like a small block party, with Kelowna’s Mustard Tiger food truck there to donate their time and profits as well. The fun also includes live music, 50/50 draws, and giveaways out in front of the store.

Five Fathoms Tattoo did the same event in 2013, creating 102 tattoos in 18 hours, from 9 a.m. to around 2 a.m. that night. The event raised an impressive $15,975 for the BC Children’s Hospital. Now, Five Fathoms Tattoo is aiming to do more than 105 tattoos and raise more than $16,000 in just one day.
