North Okanagan expected to be hit with severe thunderstorms

There is a severe thunderstorm watch issued for North Okanagan, including Vernon, B.C.

According to Environment Canada, conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms. The storms may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

On Saturday in Kelowna, it will be mainly cloudy with a 70 per cent chance of showers. Winds south 20 kilometres an hour.

Severe thunderstorms are expected to hit the Shuswap, as well.
