Man in stable condition after being hit by train in Northern BC

A Northern BC man is counting himself lucky following an incident involving a train on Wednesday. 

According to RCMP, in the early hours of the morning, officers in Terrace were called to investigate a collision on the train tracks east of Kalum Street. A man was reportedly on the tracks and struck by a train. 

"When the engineer observed the man on the tracks, he activated his brakes and whistle," wrote police. "Fortunately, the man responded by moving off the tracks, however, was partially struck by the train causing non-life-threatening injuries."

Paramedics arrived on scene and transferred the man to a local hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery. 

"There were no known witnesses to this event and no criminality is suspected."
