In this episode of Business Matters, presented by Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union, host Rob Cupello is joined by Mike Koutsantonis, owner of Olympia Greek Taverna.

Koutsantonis grew up in the restaurant business. His parents opened up the beloved Olympia Greek Taverna over 50 years ago, so the industry is in his blood.

The family-owned and operated eatery has been an adorned local favourite for decades, so what’s the secret to its success?

“Hard work, consistency, providing people with value, using quality ingredients and focusing on services. I think if you do those things in any business you’ll do well.”

Loyal diners will be happy to know that the restaurant is planning on opening a small little deli component where people can buy their delicious frozen lasagne, pizza dough, house sauces, spice mixtures and more.

To hear more about Koutsantonis and his family’s journey to Canada, exclusive details about the Olympia Greek Taverna reopening and the ins and outs of the restaurant industry, watch the full episode below.
