Dozens of people skipped the long lines at Superstore this morning and made their way down to the Parkinson Recreation Centre to buy some of their groceries at the indoor Kelowna Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market.

For over two decades the Kelowna Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market has been promoting locals to buy fresh produce, home made and home baked goods and uniquely crafted items from the independent entrepreneurs of our community.

The market allows attendees to check off their shopping list with a wide variety of products, all year round. That's right, the market also runs through the winter starting in November right up to March before it heads back outside for the Spring.

Though the market shrinks slightly in the colder months, you can still get all you need and more. From fresh vegetables like squash and potatoes, canned goods, homemade bread and cheese to handcrafted jewelry and upcycled clothing, the market is a great one stop shop for those of you interested in supporting the local economy.

Not only is it a great way to keep your hard earned money within the community, but buying locally grown produce has it’s health benefits and also gives you a piece of mind as you know where it comes from.

The market runs every Saturday of the month from November to March from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and every Wednesday and Saturday of the Month from April to November from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
