This Saturday, March 18th was quite an eventful day, ranging from a fund-raiser for happiness to a local BC folk fest in Lake Country.

Happiness Wall

To start off the Saturday was Kelowna’s first ever Happiness Wall. The event was located at Orchard Park Mall and put on by Live Happy to spread smiles and joy throughout Kelowna and North America.

Those who participated in writing down ways to spread some delight were allowed to get some coffee and a wristband. For each pledge written on a card, Live Happy donated $1 to our local charity Big Brothers, Big Sisters.

In addition to the heart warming cards, those who popped by could also draw positive messages with chalk, participate in Zumba or enjoy the photo booth.

Lake Country Folk Fest

The day ended with Lake Country’s Folk Festival which featured over 10 artists from all across BC.

The event was hosted at Lake Country’s community theatre from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and had three different theatres that allowed attendees to move around to different acts as they pleased.

Kettle River Brewing was on hand to offer craft beer as well as food trucks featuring tasty snacks like tacos and pizza so viewers could enjoy the entertainment with a full belly.
