On Sunday afternoon prospective home buyers and members of the home building community made the trip to Kelowna’s newest property development at Mckinley Beach.
Acorn Communities has officially broken ground on their new project, Granite at Mckinley Beach, and they had one very special guest on site to back them up.
Mike Holmes, popular HGTV star, and legend in all things homes has been working closely with the local company as they have officially become Holmes approved home builders.
“Today is a groundbreaking day for Acorn Homes, they are now, like 41 other home builders across Canada, Holmes approved Home builders,” Said Mike Holmes.
“I really like finding the best guys, who use the best supplies, ones that most know are good but they don’t. I like to give them that recognition,” Added Holmes.
Granite at Mckinley Beach will see 18 eco-friendly and luxury townhomes and 100 apartment-style condos be erected in the next 18 months.
Today Acorn communities CEO Greg Bird, his wife Carmen Bird and Mike Holmes got together to shovel out the first pile of earth from the new site.
