Over 120 philanthropic cyclists gathered in Rona’s parking lot on Saturday morning, gearing up to embark on the ninth annual MS Bike Okanagan Experience.

The two-day bike ride takes participants throughout Kelowna’s wine region, making pit stops at local vineyards and wineries along the way — all the while supporting the MS Society of Canada.

With 20 teams registered, the goal of raising $115,000 for the cause is not far out of reach. By the time participants set out they had already mustered up a cool $92,000.

Participants of all walks of life were in attendance. Whether a fighter themselves or supporting a loved one currently battling, they buckled their helmets showing support and determination.

Prior to the ride, local dignitaries offered their support through various speeches, including councilor Mohini Singh, who is currently battling MS.

Funds raised will not only go toward the hunt for a cure, but will be used to bolster the programs and services offered in many different communities.

If you were unable to attend but still wish to support the cause, online donations are still being accepted.
