The Okanagan Mission Community Hall hosted yet another fun and successful family-friendly event.

As early as 9 a.m. families in the mission area gathered at the community centre to kick off their Easter long weekend with an assortment of egg-citing activities, all for a good cause.

For the fifth year in a row the event collected donations for the Central Okanagan Food Bank, a cause that hall manager Beverly Dawe says is important to support year round.

“It is one of those organizations that can never have too much, it’s a place that people of all ages like to support and can be supported by,” said Dawe.

This morning’s festivities garnered what Dawe believed to be the busiest year yet for the Easter event, welcoming over 600 pre-registered guests in addition to the dozens who just happened to drop in.

“The event started off small but has really grown each year and it is a fantastic feeling to watch it and see how the community is always on board to support events like this,” added Dawe.

An event the whole family could enjoy, the hall burst to life with magnificent colours and various activities such as face-painting, egg decorating, visits with the Easter bunny, bouncy castles and more!

During breaks from the fun attendees had the opportunity to refuel thanks to a free pancake breakfast courtesy of the Okanagan Mission Lions Club.

Though this event is wrapped up for the year, there is still a tone to see and do over the Easter Long Weekend. Click here for more must-attend events!
