Downtown Kelowna sprung to life Monday night, ready to ring in 2019 at the annual Valley First New York New Years event in Stuart Park.

The event welcomes one and all to participate in a wide variety of activities as a fun way to bid farewell to 2018 and ramp up for what lies ahead in the new year.

In its seventh year, the event boasts live music from various local musicians with Kenny Wayne and Sherman Doucette set to headline at 8 p.m., a Kids Zone with interactive games, ice skating and a warm up location filled with more fun at the Kelowna Community Theatre.

To keep you cozy in the outdoors you can find free and delicious hot chocolate along with snacks courtesy of some local food trucks.

Of course, NYE would not be complete without the magic of fireworks and you can catch the dazzling display over Okanagan Lake at 9 p.m. sharp!

On behalf of the KelownaNow crew have a safe and fun-filled New Years Eve!
