A number of women entrepreneurs from the Okanagan gathered at Moxies on Tuesday to give back to a few worthy causes.
The women, part of the Living in Balance Seminar, put together Christmas gift bags for the Kelowna Women’s Shelter, H.O.P.E in Kelowna and Bridges in Vernon.

It’s no new initiative either, as this charitable event has been happening for a decade and these entrepreneurial women say they love giving back to women in the community in a meaningful way.
Those women include:
- Kaarina Schrott – One Step Foot Care Inc.
- Pauline Weninger – Weninger Construction & Design Ltd.
- Sarah Coffey – The Local Gift Card
- Jay Coward – Farm Bound
- Amanda Westrheim – Realtor with Century 21 Kelowna
- Kaylin England – Realtor with Royal Lepage Kelowna
- Meghan Shallow – BNL Media Consulting
- Holly Husel – Essence Creative
While many of the gifts were purchased, they were also aided by donors like:
- Marshalls Home Living
- Home Hardware Rutland
- Natures Fare Kelowna
- Remax Vernon
- Kaylin England Real Estate
- Unless Market
- BDO Vernon
- One Step Foot Care
- Weninger Construction
- Cobalt Design
Connie from the Kelowna Women’s Shelter picked up the donation and was “very grateful” for the contribution.
Meanwhile, H.O.P.E will deliver their bags to women in the need on the streets, while Bridges will donate theirs to women in their transition house who have come from bad situation and are trying to turn around their lives.
