Yet more bronze memorials have been stolen from an Okanagan cemetery.

Six plaques – commemorating eight people – were taken from headstones at Naramata Cemetery last month.

Their absence was noted on Sept. 27, just days after similar thefts in the Central Okanagan.

Among the memorials taken from Naramata were plaques from 1940.

The Regional District of Okanagan–Similkameen (RDOS) is in the process of informing families affected by the thefts.

“The RDOS will help facilitate the replacement of the stolen memorials,” said the district’s chair, Karla Kozakevich.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Penticton RCMP.”

Vigilance has been increased at the cemetery in the meantime, RDOS explained.
