A 25-year-old man is behind bars after allegedly trying to rob a dollar store in Enderby on Monday.

The RCMP was called to the Dollar Dollar Store at 606 Cliff Ave. shortly before 3 p.m. after the man reportedly entered the store with a knife and demanded money.

When the register wouldn’t open, the suspect allegedly took the whole till and fled on foot.

Police discovered the till a short time later, completely intact and officers were able to track down the suspect nearby.

He was taken into custody without further incident and police have now linked him to nine different investigations, including four robbery cases, over the past month.

“We consider this is a win for the communities of Armstrong and Enderby as the alleged crime spree of this individual has been put to an end,” said Cst. Kelly Brett.

“Police will continue their investigation into the recent robberies that have occurred in the communities with additional charges being recommended to the Crown prosecution office.”

No one was injured during Monday’s robbery.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in court today.
