The body of 73-year-old Wayne Orser has been recovered from Okanagan Lake.

A kayaker on the north end of the lake spotted human remains floating offshore earlier today and they were recovered by the RCMP’s underwater recovery team.

Since then, the remains have been positively identified as Orser, who was reported missing on June 30.

At the time he went missing, it was believed that he was paddleboarding, as his paddleboard was found in reeds at the north end of Okanagan Lake.

“There is no evidence of criminality being involved in Mr. Orser’s death at this time,” saidCpl. Tania Finn.

The BC Coroners Service has now taken over the investigation and is trying to pinpoint how, where, when and by what means the 73-year-old came to his untimely death.

No further information will be released at this time.
