COVID-19 cases confirmed at schools in Kelowna, West Kelowna, Penticton and Vernon

Interior Health is warning residents over more confirmed cases of COVID-19 at schools in the Okangan. 

According to IH, four different schools in Kelowna, Vernon, West Kelowna and Penticton had members of the community test positive for the virus. The affected individuals are now self-isolating and working with local public health teams. 

The schools in question were Kelowna Secondary School, Hillview Elementary School, Mount Boucherie Senior Secondary and Princess Margaret Secondary School. KSS's exposures took place on Jan. 4, 5, and 7, Hillview's were on Jan. 4 and 5 and PMSS' happened on Jan. 4, 5 and 6. 

Mount Boucherie has not yet reported when its exposure occurred. 

Contact tracing is now underway. Students at-risk of contracting the virus will be notified as soon as possible.
