For the past few years, Kane Blake and the Okanagan Forest Task Force (OFTF) have been working tirelessly to clean up the backcountry.

Since 2016, the group has removed more than 351,000 lbs of illegally dumped garbage from various parts of the Okanagan backcountry and they don’t plan on stopping any time soon.

Since Blake and company have done so much for the community, Canadian Tire Kelowna decided to say thanks by giving the OFTF’s Ford F350 a serious tune up.

With new brakes, shocks, tires and an alignment, Blake says the truck is running great.

“I am beyond grateful that I now have a reliable truck for hauling garbage out of the backcountry,” he explained.

“Without all this help from the community, we weren’t sure when or how we would get back out patrolling.”

A spokesperson for the local Canadian Tire said that the business is proud to sponsor the OFTF and support all the great work the group does.
