On Thursday, crews will begin construction on a washroom building at the north end of the Okanagan Rail Trail.

The project will create a “modest, but architecturally interesting” washroom for rail trail users once it’s complete.

Construction is expected to be finished by the end of 2020.

It will feature two fully-equipped universal stalls, a dog water station and a drinking fountain.

“A simple-to-follow detour will be located around the construction site between the Kickwillie Loop and the Westkal Road trail entrance,” said a release from the RDNO.

“Trail users are encouraged to park at the parking lot at Coldstream Station, 16506 Kalamalka Road, as there will be limited parking at the Kickwillie Loop and Westkal Road trail entrance.”

Any further trail closures will be passed along as project updates are received.
