Cyclist airlifted to hospital from Highway 3A

At 1 pm on Saturday afternoon, Penticton RCMP responded to reports of a cyclist in distress on Highway 3A, east of Twin Lakes. 

According to Sgt. Carmen Penney, responders assisted in closing off the highway to allow a BC Air Ambulance to land safely.

The patient, a male in his 50's was airlifted to hospital to receive urgent medical attention.

No further information has been released on his condition at this time. 

The highway, which is now reopened, was only closed for approximately one hour.
