The Lake Country Fire Department recently reminded local residents that rescues come in all shapes and sizes.

On Monday evening, a crew of firefighters were in The Lakes neighbourhood practicing their ladder skills when they suddenly found themselves called into action.

Described via a series of photos on the district’s Facebook page, a family cat found itself stuck high in a tree and in need of rescue from the crew.

"Young Clara’s cat, Eddie, darted up a tree with his leash on and got stuck in the branches much higher than his family’s home ladder could reach," reads the post.

"Thanks to LCFD, Eddie was safely reunited with Clara."

While the family was lucky to have the firefighters and their ladders conveniently located in the area, generally speaking, emergency crew's services are saved for human emergencies.

People are commonly asked to arrange a service themselves and an arborist is usually the recommended go to.
