Even skiers and boarders who appreciate Big White’s challenging moguls weren’t fans of the bumps on Big White Road.

Thankfully, fresh pavement is on the way for more than four kilometres of the mountain’s access road, beginning about the first cattle guard.

The project also includes paving 40 kms of Highway 33 south of the Big White Road turnoff and is expected to be completed this year.

Big White’s senior vice president Michael J. Ballingall said the resort has been lobbying for years to have the road resurfaced.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has awarded the paving contract to Emil Anderson Construction.
