A GoFundMe page has been set up for a Lake Country woman who has an aggressive form of breast cancer.

In January, Sherri Evans was diagnosed with metastatic HER 2+ inoperable stage four breast cancer, which has spread to her bones and marrow.

“There is no cure,” the fundraising page says. “She will never get to say she is cancer free.”

Because her body is responding favourably to systemic treatment, Evans will likely continue with chemotherapy and other treatments to help extend her life.

“Many of the Lake Country community know Sherri Evans as the bright, smiling face when you walk through the doors of Lake Country Home Hardware,” the page adds.

“The Home Hardware crew wants Sherri to enjoy each day going forward however she wants to.”

The fundraising goal is $5,000 and donations can be made here

“She has kids and grandkids in Alberta that she would love to see and a bucket list that she cannot do without our help.”
