All Theresa, Sam and Shirley want to do is volunteer at the BC SPCA, but they need a little help to do so.

The three ladies, who live at a retirement home in Vernon, have completed the SPCA’s interview process and are ready to get started.

However, to fulfil their goal of one shift a week, they need to arrange their own transportation.

All three are on a very restricted budget and even transportation like a discounted HandiDart or sharing a cab can add up quickly.

To help them out, Jenny Darychuk has created a GoFundMe to try and raise slightly more than $1,000, which would cover their transportation costs for one year.

“These wonderful, giving seniors are so full of love for these animals,” explained Darychuk.

“I would love for us to come together as a community to support them giving back to these animals in need by helping lift the financial strain it will cost them.”

If the goal is met, the three seniors will be able to get to the Vernon SPCA for a two-hour shift once per week.
