(Update: Sept. 9, 2020) - The Kettle Valley Railway has made the decision to suspend operations for the rest of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The railway announced the update on their website after announcing a late start to the season in July.

This will mean that popular holiday trains for Halloween and Christmas may not proceed this year.

One of the Okanagan’s popular tourist activities is set to resume operations after a delay to the season.

The railway announced on their website that they will return beginning July 18, 2020 in accordance with the BC government’s move to phase three of the reopening plan.

When they do begin running again, they will be on a reduced schedule.

“The Board, Management and staff have worked diligently to ensure all protocols will be met in ensuring the safety and well being of our guests, staff  and volunteers as we work to return to normal operations,” said the railway service.

The Kettle Valley Railway is well known for its historical value and for it’s popular themed events, such as Christmas and Halloween trains.

The railway usually opens for the season in the spring, however they were forced to close down due to the pandemic.
